We’ve all been there. We start a diet, get great results, then life gets in the way and we slack off.
It’s no different for celebrities.
Kourtney Kardashian was all about the keto diet two years ago and she’s just revealed that it’s time for her to go back on it.
Writing on her lifestyle website, Poosh, she says, “In my experience, I’ve found the best method to train my body to curb sugar cravings, burn fat, and kick-start weight loss is by sticking to a keto diet.”
Her doctor had originally prescribed the diet as part of a metal detox after tests revealed she high levels of mercury and lead in her system.”
Ketosis was the fastest way for her to detox, so she stuck to regime religiously, checking her blood sugar and ketone levels were on track every morning. But to her surprise, it had a beneficial side effect.
“My body never looked better than when I did the keto diet two and half years ago, when I did it for two months,” she wrote.
So she’s hopping back onto the keto bandwagon.
“I had a really positive experience the last time around and wanted to restart my routine this (northern hemisphere) summer. It’s definitely a more restrictive eating plan, but I found that once I knew the ground rules, I was very strict and really stuck to it,” she says.
Poosh also shared Kourtney ‘s new meal plan.
“My plan this time is to eat minimal carbs and no grains, beans, or legumes,” she writes.
“I’m focusing my meals on fresh vegetables and lean proteins. I eat three meals a day with no snacking in between if possible.”
Her daily diet will look something like this.
- Breakfast – A smoothie with avocado , stevia, MCT oil, bone broth powder and blue-green algae.
- Lunch – A protein-based salad with turkey, greens and egg whites.
- Dinner – Protein such as chicken or salmon with cauliflower or broccoli rice so it still feels as if she’s having carbs.
- Snacks – Nuts, bone broth and green tea.
Kourtney’s strict keto routine is just “a summer kick start.”
“I know after the month is up, I will most likely go back to my regular lifestyle, especially during summer with my kids. It’s all about balance,” she says.
