From the moment groceries and bakeries start pimping out chocolate eggs and hot cross buns, we all just live with the fact that we’ll be a few kilos heavier by the time April comes to an end.
Just to lay it all out for you, one Cadbury Crème Egg contains 177 calories with 29.4 grams of carbs and 6 grams of fat (4g of saturated), while one milk chocolate Lindt Bunny has a whopping 540 calories with 54 grams of carbs and 34 grams of fat (20g being saturated). Sorry, not sorry.
Although there is no harm in indulging a tad, the world would actually be a better place if you could indulge and not feel so much guilt – which is exactly what ALDI has brought to us this Easter.
Just launching their healthy chocolate range, consumers can get their hands on three different dairy free chocolate products this Easter – and of course, being ALDI, they’re also cheap as chips.
The Sweet William Hollow Egg ($7.99) is free from dairy, nuts, gluten and eggs, making it vegan friendly.
The Sweet William Bunny ($9.99) is dairy, gluten and nut free.
And the Choices Free From Easter Eggs ($6.49) comes in both milk and white chocolate, and are free from dairy, wheat, gluten and eggs.
All three products contain less saturated fat compared to standard dairy chocolate products, and also contain no artificial colours or preservatives.
Money can definitely buy happiness and we are sold.
So, still think money can’t buy happiness? We’ll have to disagree in this situation.
